Jim BoydToday, we face an economic crisis like few of us have ever seen. While the overall economic situation is global in scope, there is much we can do right here at home and throughout the state, to get our economy back on track.

First, we have to bring Tallahassee closer to home. As the owner of a small business, I know there is a disconnect between Main Street and Tallahassee that must be fixed. I pledge to do everything I can to close that divide. At the same time I will work to:

  • Provide incentives to keep companies from leaving Florida and taking our jobs with them;
  • Motivate new businesses to establish themselves here, bringing new jobs;
  • Get people back to work by encouraging government and private businesses to hire Floridians first;
  • Properly fund education;
  • Develop a stable tax base; and
  • Get the state budget under control.
